Description

A highly versatile fine artist, Karel Zelenko, has predominantly established himself as a graphic artist and ceramist. He completed his studies in the first postwar generation of students at the newly founded Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, which- together with their professors- formed the nucleus of the so-called “Ljubljana Graphic School”, and attained national as well as international renown already in the 1960’s. As one of its core and pronouncedly individual representatives, Zelenko is in Slovenian overviews of fine art of the second half of the 20th century regarded as an outstanding graphic artist, dedicated and consistently faithful to the black-and-white technique.
