Tone Lapajne (1933-2011), sculptor and painter, graduated in 1961 in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. In 1965 he completed a specialization at the Academy of Fine Arts with prof. Boris Kalin. At first he was a sculptor. Since 1975, however, he has established himself as a painter. He painted with acrylic paints and especially with soil applied to jute or canvas. He used over 50 different types of soil to depict the landscape around him. He has won numerous awards and recognitions. …
